ABSTRACT COLLECTION

The following abstract holograms were made and produced between 1987-1990. They are known as pseudo colour holograms. This is a technique which is used to create colour images without using multiple laser wavelengths. The colours are created by treating the silver halide emulsion with a bath of chemical solution prior to exposure. The concentration of the bath controls the thickness of the emulsion - this then affects the colour of the hologram when it reconstructs.

It is possible to make a hologram with more than one colour by using multiple exposures. The different colours in these holograms create a kinetic effect when the viewer moves from side to side or up and down.
