Holograms
Caroline Palmer worked in holography during the early 1980s & 1990s.
She was originally interested in the possibilities for holography in museums.
During her time as a student at the Royal College of Art, London, her holograms became more abstract.
Later, she was involved with research into the applications of holography in architectural glass.

ANCIENT ART SERIES
This collection of holograms were made of original antiquities, which date from 6th century BC in Egypt to 15th century AD in Southeast Asia. They originally formed a portfolio of work to demonstrate the possible application of holography in museums.

ABSTRACT COLLECTION
These holograms were experiments in spectral colour mixing in space. The different colours are made by multiple exposures. These planes of light create a kinetic effect as the viewer moves from side to side or up and down.
